More Animals

 Flamingo

These birds like to live by the shores or edges of lakes and lagoons. They make mud nests by the water. Flamingos usually like warm places but some of them live in the cool mountains of South America.

 Beaver

Beavers live near woodlands, in streams, rivers, lakes, and ponds. Their houses are dams they build in the water. They live inside the dam. The beaver dam is called a lodge. They have an underwater door to their lodge but they live above the water.

 Komodo Dragon

A komodo dragon does not breathe fire or capture princesses. These dragons are lizards who get to be over 10 feet long! They live in the rain forest where it is hot and wet. The komodo dragon makes it's own cave home by digging a hole.

 Swallowtail Butterfly

Fennel is a plant that tastes like black licorice candy. Maybe that is why the children of the swallowtail butterfly, which are caterpillars, live in fennel. The adult butterflies like clover and alfalfa. They live in mountain areas that are warmer in the summer and cold in the winter.

 Seal

Seals love cold areas. They also must live near water. They eat fish. They usually have homes on land, near the edge of the ocean. Sometimes their homes are in an ice cave on an iceberg. Wouldn't that be a cold house?
